I’ve been helping individuals and couples for 25 years to improve relationships, heal from trauma and abuse, eliminate self-destructive behavior patterns, overcome codependency and addiction, and generally feel more secure. As a therapist, I am interactive, down-to-earth and practical. I believe therapy is a co-creative process, and I take great care to ensure my clients develop practical tools and strategies to help them thrive personally and in relationship.
My core belief as a therapist is that change and growth are an inside job. When people feel unhappy they often look to other people, career, money or substances to make themselves feel better, but this doesn’t work long-term and creates dependencies that harm them. When we look inside ourselves, we discover our struggles are often rooted in childhood experiences and less than ideal parenting and attachment patterns. Revealing, resolving and moving beyond these historical wounds and identifying and eliminating the destructive beliefs and behaviors the wounds created is where growth happens and your authentic self emerges.
For me, growth has been an ever evolving process. In my journey toward healing I’ve discovered that true freedom comes from growing beyond the faulty core beliefs that drove my thoughts and behaviors, creating difficulty and unhappiness. This work has given me an authentic sense of self, peace, and joy which has radically shifted the love I have for myself, my life, and others.
I have made Denver my home for the past 21 years. When I am not seeing clients I can be found in my garden, browsing bookstores with tea in hand, hunting for antique treasures and seeking out adventure.
